NIC Study Lands Top-Tier Coverage This Week

Estimated wait time: forever. A recent Wakefield PR study for NIC Inc. made the front page of USA Today last week. According to the survey, more than one-third (34%) of Americans have spent an hour or more waiting at a government agency office. As they say, time is money, and a majority (67%) of Americans said they wouldn’t mind eliminating the wait by paying a $1 to $5 efficiency fee for web-based government services.

How much would you shell out to skip the line at the DMV? The Wall Street Journal featured the results of the NIC survey earlier in the week, and one thing is clear: Americans want a legal, online “line jump” – and they’re willing to pay for it. Nearly a third (30%) of Americans would shell out $10 or more to skip an in-person government agency line.

No more getting up early on Saturday morning just to spend an hour or more waiting in line? Count us in!
