The broadcast segment and print article focus on the survey results of Americans’ experiences with uncomfortable social experiences. The Crocs survey – done in conjunction with the first annual National Comfort Day (September 28th) – reveals that Millennials are more likely to feel uncomfortable in social situations than other generations. Some of the attention-grabbing stats findings include:
- 1 in 3 Millennials (34 percent) experience more than three uncomfortable social situations per week, while more than half of Baby Boomers (55 percent) rarely experience an awkward run-in. In fact, Boomers say that they experience zero uncomfortable social situations per week.
- 4 in 5 Millennials (80 percent) think it’s okay to lie in order to avoid embarrassment. Almost half of Millenials (46 percent) fake cell phone calls to avoid awkward moments, and when stuck in an embarrassing situation, 44 percent of Millennials blame someone else.
